Privacy Policy

Thank you for choosing to be part of our community at Our Savior Parish and USC Caruso Catholic Center (“company”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). We adhere to privacy policies set forth by the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. If you have any questions or concerns about our policy, or our practices with regards to your personal information, please contact Xochitl Nisbet.

When you visit our website and use our services, you trust us with your personal information. We take your privacy very seriously. In this privacy notice, we describe our privacy policy. We seek to explain to you in the clearest way possible what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have in relation to it. We hope you take some time to read through it carefully, as it is important. If there are any terms in this privacy policy that you do not agree with, please discontinue use of our site or our services.

This privacy policy applies to all information collected through our website, and/or any related services, sales, marketing, or events (we refer to them collectively in this privacy policy as the “Sites”).

Please read this privacy policy carefully as it will help you make informed decisions about sharing your personal information with us.

What Information Do We Collect?

We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when registering at the Sites, expressing an interest in obtaining information about us or our products and services, when participating in activities on the Sites (such as posting messages in our online forums, or otherwise contacting us.) The personal information that we collect depends on the context of your interactions with us and the Sites, the choices you make, and the products and features you use. The personal information we collect can include the following:

  • Name and Contact Data

We collect your first and last name, email address, postal address, phone number, and other similar contact data.

  • Payment Data

We collect data necessary to process your payment if you make purchases, such as your payment instrument number (such as credit card number), and the security code associated with your payment instrument. All payment data is stored by our payment processor and you should review its privacy policies and contact the payment processor directly to respond to your questions.

All personal information that you provide to us must be true, complete, and accurate, and you must notify us of any changes to such personal information.

Information Automatically Collected

We automatically collect certain information when you visit, use, or navigate the Sites. This information does not reveal your specific identity (like your name or contact information), but may include device and usage information, such as your IP address, browser and device characteristics, operating system, language preferences, referring URLs, device name, country, location, information about how and when you use our Sites, and other technical information. This information is primarily needed to maintain the security and operation of our Sites and for our internal analytics and reporting purposes.

Information Collected from Other Sources

We may obtain information about you from other sources such as public databases, joint marketing partners, social media platforms (such as Facebook), as well as from other third parties. Examples of the information we receive from other sources include social media profile information (your name, gender, birthday, email, current city, state and country, user identification numbers for your contacts, profile picture URL, and any other information that you choose to make public), marketing leads and search results, and links, including paid listings (such as sponsored links).

How Does the Archdiocese Protect Personal Information?

When you make a contribution or purchase, we offer the use of a secure server. We encrypt all information you input before it is sent to us. Furthermore, all of the data we collect is protected against unauthorized access. Your credit card information is protected and secure when used on our site.

Our Web server may automatically recognize information regarding your IP address, domain, or email address. This information is not viewed individually, but is used to automatically compile statistics through a software program. The statistical information we collect may be used to:

  • improve the content and organization of our website.

  • create new features and/or content on our site to meet the patterns of use indicated by statistical analysis.

  • provide general statistical information, e.g. the number of visitors to the site and most-viewed pages.

Will Our Savior Parish and USC Caruso Catholic Center Disclose Private Information It Collects to outside Parties?

If you supply OSP CCC with your email address, you may receive periodic email messages from us providing information and updates about the center, our website, or notice of upcoming events and activities. In each case, when you submit a form, you will be given the option not to receive such communication. If you mistakenly receive any communication you do not want to receive, please respond to the email with a request to be removed from the list, and your request will be promptly fulfilled. We do not make the email addresses of those who access our site available to other organizations, nor do we sell this information to anyone.

If you supply OSP CCC with your postal address online, you may receive periodic postal mailings from us providing information on the center, our website, or upcoming events or activities. If you do not wish to receive such postal mailings, please let us know by returning the mail to the originating department as “refused”, and your name will be removed from the mailing list.

Persons who supply OSP CCC with telephone numbers online may be assured that his or her telephone number will be kept in confidence by and used only for the purpose for which you supplied it. We will not share phone numbers with other organizations.

What Is the Difference between Private and Personal Information?

Personal information is considered to be names, email addresses, mailing addresses, telephone numbers, date of birth, and any demographic or preferential information you may disclose for the purposes of online interaction, identification, or participation in any Archdiocesan program or event.

Private information is considered to be financial information such as credit card or bank account information, social security numbers, health information, immigration status, communication indicated as confidential, or any information that is not routinely collected as a condition of participation in OSP CCC programs or events.

OSP CCC assigns a higher priority and a greater level of protection to private information over personal information.

What Is Not Covered by This Privacy Policy

All clergy (deacons, priests, and bishops), mental health professionals, educators, and many employees of the archdiocese or church institutions are legally mandated reporters of suspected sexual abuse, child abuse, child neglect, and elder abuse. California law requires such mandated reporters to report possible instances of these offenses to law enforcement agencies. Any disclosures of this nature are not covered by this privacy policy.

Requests by law enforcement agencies for information about site users deemed by archdiocesan legal counsel to be legitimate and not in violation of constitutional principles will be supplied to law enforcement agencies.

Any user of this site indicating, threatening, admitting to, or representing an act in violation of the law on this site or through an email link contained on this site will be reported to the appropriate law enforcement agency.

What If I Have a Problem?

If at any time you believe OSP CCC has violated this privacy policy, we encourage you to contact our general counsel by email so that we may quickly resolve the issue.
