Saint Joseph's Table

The Year of Saint Joseph

Pope Francis in his Apostolic Letter Patris Cordes, "With a Father's Love," declared 2021 the Year of Saint Joseph. As the patron saint of families, we invite you and your family to join us on St. Joseph's feast day as we celebrate Mass in the morning and share a one-of-a-kind virtual cook-along in the evening!

The Italian tradition Tavola di San Giuseppe, “Saint Joseph’s Table,” dates to the Middle Ages when there was severe drought and famine in Sicily. Today, this tradition is a symbolic thank you and renewal of the Sicilian people’s devotion to Saint Joseph, typically celebrated in a parish hall as a feast filled with pasta, vegetables, traditional pastries, breads, and fish.

In the spirit of this tradition, we will cook a Lenten meal together and help our friends by sending a portion of the proceeds to benefit St. Anne’s Family Services in Los Angeles. With every meal kit purchased, we will give a hot prepared meal to a family enrolled in St. Anne's Family Services.

Saint Joseph’s Table

Feast Day: Friday, March 19, 2021
Time: 5:00 p.m.
Location: Virtually on Zoom

Join us as we cook along Fr. Richard and prepare a superb meatless white wine sauce linguine dish (recipe by USC alum, Taylor Felix!) We’ll send you the recipe, all the fresh ingredients, and already-prepared dessert and salad (courtesy of our friends at Thrive Kitchen LA) before the event so you can cook along or prepare the dish before or after. You are also welcomed to use your own ingredients or simply join the zoom to watch along. Be sure to mark your selection on the registration form below. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us.

We look forward to celebrating the feast of St. Joseph together as a family and share a meal with those in need.

Current USC Students: If you are a current USC undergraduate or graduate student,  we will send your meal kits free of charge. Please email Rosie Shawver if you are planning to attend to arrange delivery.
